Cynthia Hanson is an award-winning journalist who draws on her 20+ years covering career development/employment trends for leading publications to create winning resumes for senior leaders and C-suite executives.  Since the mid-1990s, she has prepared high-impact resumes and job-search communication materials—including LinkedIn profiles, executive bios and cover letters—that have helped 1,000+ men and women nationwide launch to the next level of their careers. Cynthia is collaborative and client-focused, with a personal touch that immediately puts people at ease and a passion for helping them succeed that comes through from the start. Clients appreciate her energy, knowledge, direct approach and responsiveness. 

A Brown University graduate, Cynthia was a news and features reporter for The Virginian-Pilot, the largest daily newspaper in Virginia, before launching her freelance writing business and her resume development practice, Write Now Resume. In the mid-1990s, she wrote a nationally syndicated career column—“Working Smart”—for the Chicago Tribune. She also was a contributing editor to Chicago magazine and an adjunct instructor at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. As a freelance journalist, Cynthia has  400+ national bylines to her credit. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal.

Currently, Cynthia lives in suburban Philadelphia with her family. Her volunteer activities include interviewing applicants for Brown and serving as the photographer for her son’s swim team. In her free time, Cynthia also enjoys visiting museums, going to the theater and reading non-fiction.
