Cynthia is an award-winning journalist who draws on her 20+ years covering career development and employment trends for leading publications to develop winning resumes for senior managers and C-suite executives. Since the mid-1990s, she has prepared custom resumes and other job-search communication materials—including executive bios, cover letters, and more recently in the age of social media, LinkedIn Profiles—that have helped hundreds of clients nationwide launch to the next level of their careers.
Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Brown University. After graduation, she was a news and features reporter for The Virginian-Pilot, the largest daily newspaper in Virginia, before relocating to Chicago and launching her freelance writing and resume development businesses.
In the 1990s, Cynthia wrote a nationally syndicated career column—“Working Smart”—for the Chicago Tribune. She also was a contributing editor to Chicago magazine and an adjunct instructor at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. As a freelance journalist, Cynthia has more than 400 national bylines to her credit. Her work has appeared in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Southwest Airlines Spirit and Ladies’ Home Journal, among others.
Currently, Cynthia lives in suburban Philadelphia with her family and two Shih Tzu. Her volunteer activities include interviewing applicants for Brown and serving as the photographer for her son’s swim team. In her free time, Cynthia also enjoys visiting museums, going to the theater and reading non-fiction.
